Butterfly Conservation
ormerly the British Butterfly Conservation Society. Founded in 1968 with
the aim of protecting our native butterflies and moths from destruction of
habitat and other threats. Owns and manages a few reserves, has a good number
of local groups and supports research and publications. Very hot on record-keeping
and butterfly statistics. Has a good web presence. Read no further on your

the New Millennium: the largest and most comprehensive
survey of butterflies ever undertaken in the British Isles. The project involves
local records centres, wildlife trusts and other conservation organisations
