Farmers Weekly
Interactive: a really good publication, with the latest news and stuff you
cant really find out anywhere else. Almost as good as the offline version. You
need to register but its free and seems harmless.
Department for Environment, Food and Rural
Affairs: the government department responsible for most agriculture-related
issues.
FWAG :an umbrella organisation for local
Farming and Wildlife Action Groups - encouraging good practice for conservation
and farming. Includes some good 'Golden Rules that can be applied to everyday
farm operations'.
The National Farmers' Union: a body
run by farmers and representing many farmers and their concerns.
Marches
Farm Enterprise Partnership: a good site which helps farmers who want to
diversify their farm business. Shows one way sustainable rural development can
be implemented on the web.
NFU Countryside: actively
supporting the countryside community.
UK Agriculture: a good and large
site with a lot of resources for finding out about UK agriculture today, and
an interesting database of conservation projects.
England Rural Development
Programme: a site about government agri-environment schemes and how they
work. Read this to find out how to get grants and funds for conservation and
environmental work on agricultural land.
