Bloody hell - the baler I grew up using had massive great cutters to trim the bale, he'd have lost both arms at least!

From my own experience of balers I would agree with Richard - seems remarkable that he survived. Also, the rather convenient size of the bale, and the way all his limbs and head popped out of it without it collapsing, make me suspect the whole thing slightly, but hey - or possibly hay - it was funny.

Oh, and FWIW obviously it isn't hay but straw, too.

The Ranger's Blog

The thoughts and writings of The Virtual Ranger, since 1995 the host and mascot of Naturenet, the UK's most popular independent environmental website; along with interjections from his real-life alter ego, Matthew Chatfield, and others. Featuring not only Naturenet and countryside related stuff, but, as on Naturenet, plenty of other material - more or less at random - that takes The Ranger's fancy. But you can be confident that soon enough he'll be rather sarcastic.
